Greenheck’s VGD 3-Phase Motors

Now variably controlling your 3-phase, belt-driven exhaust fan is simpler than ever with Greenheck’s new Vari-Green Drive (VGD). Pre-mounted, pre-wired, and pre-programmed by the manufacturer that knows their fans best eliminates any harmonic-related headaches and installation cost associated with traditional VFDs. Current features include:

  • Potentiometer Dial (4-20mA OR 0-10 VDC input)
  • Factory programmed, mounted, and wired
  • 24V damper power output
  • Compatible with existing Var0Green Controls
  • 208/240V (up to 2hp) and 460V (up to 3hp) 3 phase input power options
  • NEMA 4x enclosure
  • R3 Filtering helps meet IEEE 519 without an external line reactor or filter

Though currently available for roof-mounted centrifugal exhaust fans (GB & CUBE), the VGD will soon be released for Single-Width belt-driven (SWB) fans as well. VGD is an acronym mechanical designers will see more in the future as Greenheck continues to improve and expand the capabilities of Vari-Green technology.

Future features will include:

  • Availability on a wider range of models
  • Bluetooth smartphone connection for control and advanced configuration
  • 3 configurable digital inputs (override, shutdown, pre-set speed)
  • Configurable digital output (fault, run status)
  • Modbus and BACnet communications
  • On board pressure sensor for pressure/airflow control
